The Story

I wouldn’t normally consider myself a fan of “tracts.”  In general, I think using one to share the Gospel with an unbeliever is less effective (but much easier) than simply talking with that person, befriending them, and then discussing the Gospel as a part of natural conversation.  However, there are times when you do want to go pretty deep, pretty fast.  And in those instances, it can be nice to have a simple resource that will not only help you communicate clearly, but also be something that you can give to the person as a reminder of what you have talked about.

Enter The Story, a great tool developed by Spread Truth Ministries.  When I first got my hands on this nice little booklet, I was immediately skeptical.  “Oh great, another corny tract that Christians will just throw at people on the street…”  However, upon reading it, I quickly began to see that this was unlike anything that I had encountered before.

Rather than grabbing people’s attention with some cliched crisis situation or  controversial “hot-button” issue, The Story frames the Gospel in it’s biblical context (the history of God’s redemption of mankind) and in biblical/theological terms (creation, fall, rescue, restoration).

People have started sharing the Gospel how God Himself wrote it, from beginning to end?!

This is sweet, I LOVE it! Thanks for sharing!
