In case you missed the news:

DES MOINES — Nearly two year after the Iowa Supreme Court struck down a ban on same-sex marriage and after almost three hours of debate, the Iowa House voted to put the definition of marriage on the ballot.

The House voted 62 to 37 to approve House Joint Resolution 6, which calls for a referendum on a constitutional amendment recognizing only marriages between one man and one woman. It would ban same-sex marriages which have been recognized in Iowa since April 2009 when the court ruled in Varnum v. Brien.

It will be interesting to see where this goes.
